“Carroll Shelby’s MasterShift™ Paddle Shifted Daily Driver”

“Carroll Shelby's Daytona Coupe was equipped with the optional billet paddles.  George at Exotic Auto Restoration completed the conversion on a Art Carr 2004R 4 speed automatic.  The MasterShift shift box is located in the rear under the roll pan.  The programming was set up so that the car can only be started in Neutral or Park.  Programmed safety features include a 1 second delay from Drive to Neutral.  A speed sensor and brake light are tied into the circuit board so that the car has to be completely stopped and the brake depressed in order to shift into Reverse or Park.  Since these cars do not have a horn wire, where the digital signals from the paddles to the shift box are normally routed, the steering wheel was fitted with our RF (wireless) system to keep the drivers compartment as clean and original as possible.”
